Thankful

I had a car accident yesterday. We are so thankful to God that everything is okay. Really it looks worse than it was and was a very minor accident. It was just so scary being so pregnant! I was coming home from work and 2 blocks from my house when the car in front of me stopped suddenly and I had no time to stop. I am so glad my airbag did not go off and I don't even think my seatbelt squeezed my belly very tightly. I was pretty shaken up, but after being checked out by paramedics I felt better. The baby was moving around and Jeffrey let me listen to the heartbeat when we got home. It was just scary. I know God was protecting me and baby and I feel so fortunate to not have a scratch.

There is another amazing part to the story...
a woman who witnessed the accident stopped to check on me and stayed at the scene the whole time. She talked to me a little and visited with Jeffrey while I was in the ambulance. This woman is in her 40's, extremely kind, and from her clothing and car we could tell was well off. First, she takes our phone number and tells us that she wants to get us something for the baby, and that she just feels so bad for what happened to us. THEN- she proceeds to tell Jeffrey that she wants to pay our insurance deductible... which we tell her we cannot accept. THEN, she tells us that she has a new car that has been sitting in her driveway for a year that no one drives. She got our address and left the scene. We went home and within 15 minutes there is a knock on our door and she is standing there with the car and a key. We were in total disbelief! She gave us her contact information and told us to keep it as long as we needed it. She said that they have been blessed by God and she loves to share her blessings with others. Then she left. No questions, no strings, just pure generosity. Her 3 teenage daughters were sitting in her car watching the whole thing. I stood on the porch and just cried.

Isn't that amazing???

I don't think I believed that strangers still did things like this for each other. She has definitely inspired us, and reminded us how much a random act of love can mean to a total stranger.
It doesn't have to be a car, the Bible says it can be a glass of water. I hope the story inspires you to bless someone else's life as well.
